We are hosting a dual ILR & ALSA fiber show to take place at McFarland Llama Farm in Mt. Vernon, OH. Fleeces and products may be mailed in or they may be dropped off. If you are dropping off and or picking up an item, you may waive the shipping fee! You will receive points from BOTH show organizations, ribbons from 1st to 3rd, Shorn fleece competition, 2 oz. samples, and finished products. Youth are welcomed (and encouraged!!) Not sure about what to do? Worried that Fluffy didn't get a bath before he was shorn?? That's okay!! If you do the 2 oz. fleece, pick out the most consistent 2 ounces from your animals fleece. Do you see a sweat line?? That's okay!! Llamas SHOULD have that! It's called suent, it doesn't count against your animal! We WANT your llama fleece to smell like a LLAMA!!! NOT shampoo or another product!! Pick out any pieces of debris.. beans, hay, straw, and occasional June bug... Don't worry about a bit of dust. We don't expect the fleece to look like it just rolled off your animal! Place the cut side down, end side up, and package. It is best if you set your fleece on something like tissue or butcher paper and gently roll it together. Vacuum packing is the best way to ship with the least amount of cotting or felting.... A fleece could also be gently placed in a clear plastic bag and shipped as well. You will need to print fleece entry cards from both the ILR and ALSA which will ask about when your animal was shorn, age of the animal, etc. Be sure to not put down any information that would allow the judge to know who you or your animal are during judging! If your are not sure about which class your fleece or items belong in, we have a judge who is VERY enthusiastic about fiber, and she will happily move your fleece/item into the correct category which will be super helpful for beginners! After the show, your fleece or item will be shipped back to you, along with ribbons.

It's that easy!!!

If you haven't tried something new lately, this is your chance!!

Entry tags must be filled out (completely) and attached to each fleece/item that is entered.

Single coat fleeces will be broken into crimpl/crinkle or no crimp/crinkle for the ILR show, but put together for the ALSA show.

Any fleece or product that shows any sign of insect infestation (moths, June bugs will just deduct a few points) will be immediately boxed and shipped without being judged.

Classes are open to all ages, unless specifically marked as youth classes.

Youth ages will follow ILR & ALSA guidelines.
